Since 27- 4 - 2020, the interest rate is updated according to directives No (8/2020) by Central Bank of Myanmar. Due to the new interest rate policy, MFTB will be updated the interest rate as below starting date on 1- 5 - 2020,
(1) Saving (MMK), interest rate is 5% for one year.
(2) Fixed Deposit (MMK),
Interest rate is 6 % for 3 months.
Interest rate is 6.5 % for 6 months.
Interest rate is 7 % for 9 months.
Starting on 1- 5 - 2020, Saving (MMK) and Fixed Deposit (MMK) will be used the new interest rate as mentioned above , for old Fixed Deposit (MMK), will be used the old interest rate until it's due.
